Desert Oceans by John Mabey

A staged read-through of an original play during UCF's Pegasus PlayLab.
This was the writers first time having this play designed and performed.
I attended the initial table read, and subsequent rehearsals to accurately inform my design choices. I kept record of my thoughts, created a cue sheet, sourced and mixed the chosen sounds, and worked closely with the PSM (Mary McDermott) in order to make sure the cues were called where I needed them to be in order to create the desired soundscape.


Pegasus PlayLab is a festival dedicated to developing plays by emerging playwrights. Playwrights are invited to UCF's campus for a two-week residency to develop their new play with students and faculty. Audiences are to hear staged readings and experience a full production of a new play first workshopped at Orlando Shakes’ PlayFest.
