For this, I helped build a set comprised of two rolling stair cases with locking castors, 4 static staircases, 6 steel-framed platforms with ply lids. I designed and built 6 jail cell door set pieces, out of pvc, to be hung from a fly rail, which were flown in and out during the show. I assisted in painting the entire set flat black. This was all accomplished in about 2 weeks time. All set pieces minus the two rolling stair cases, had handrails. I was in charge of guiding and helping the team at Dr. Phillips Center in the Pugh theatre reassemble the set during load-in, and disassemble during strike. I hung the jail-cell doors from the fly rail, adjusted the height of the ropes as necessary once they were flown in. During rehearsals, I questioned the actors about any problems or concerns, as I noticed the castors on the stairs were initially too small to be effective, and needed replacing, which I also did. I then guided the actors on how the locking castors worked, for a smooth, mid-show transition.
